My Dad

My Dad
By Weston Edwards

I want to be just like my dad! He went to college to play basketball and football. I want to go play basketball, just like he did. My dad has been an amazing dad, though. Especially when I was younger. When I wanted him to play with me, he would, even if he was sick. He also had a bad shoulder from football, so it would hurt him when we threw the football. I always loved his saying when I fell and got “hurt:” “Come on Weston, Get up. You aren’t hurt”. He would tell me that because he loved me.

My dad has gone along way in life. He went to Lee to play Basketball, then he was transferred to ECU to play football and basketball. I hope I get that opportunity to go play sports at a big school. I hope I can get a scholarship, and get my collage payed for just like him. He always strives to make me do my best that I can.

My dad and I have so many memories we could look back on, we always laugh together when we are hanging out. He takes me to go see N.C. State play football and basketball. That’s where I want to go to collage.

My dad is my best friend, I can tell my dad anything and talk to him about everything. When I grow up and have kids, I want to be just like him and be a great father. That’s why I love my dad :)

Showcase

Showcase
By:Weston Edwards
This blog will be a showcase blog. Full of all my best writing's and things like that.

I would have to say. . .By far "The Funeral" was the Best Example Of Creativity. It was so hard, Because It was my first rap I've ever done. So I had to get over the recording fright, I had to fit my part into the beat, And I had to make the lyrics come together. I see now, That it's very, very tough.

My next one will be, Evidence of my growth as a writer. The before story will be "My Perfect World", And the after story will be "Ballin'". I picked these because it shows how much my brain has expanded in my wiritings. At the beginning of the year, My writing's were short and not very good. But now they are very long, And detailed. I have noticed myself growing as a writer.

This one will show, Proof that I am a thinker or Learner. The story I chose was "Memories". I selected this one because I had to think very, very hard to remember things from a long time ago, But I think I did a great job with it. When I was thinking I had to lay my head down and get real quiet, Then I was there and everything came to me. That's how I know I am a learner.

The last one will be, My Top Three Post's. My top three that I chose were The Funeral, Ballin', And Memories. These three were chosen because, I really put a lot of hard work and effort in to these. With the link's, You can find those up top. But it took over time, I really had to put a lot of thoughts into them, I really do think I did a good job with all of these.

Ballin'

Ballin’
By: Weston Edwards
This is the story of four friends. Their names are Me. . Edwards, Neal,   Johnson (But we call him John), And Reid. We all lived in a small town in North Carolina. The town was small but our imagination wasn’t. So I’m here to tell you a story that happened Five years ago.

                        Five Years Earlier
We were all Thirteen, Teenagers, On top of the world. When one day we were walking to CVS near my house and saw four kids our age we always play in basketball every year. They had Jordan’s on, Ripped shirts, And adidas shorts. That matched the way we were all dressed that day. So Neal. . Being the kid he was , Walked up and Asked the four kids if they wanna play basketball. They swore up and down they’ve gotten better, But they said yeah, Lets go. . .

So we all walked to the old goal we play on and check the ball up. Keep in mind we played this team every year, at the same goal. We got ball. I mean come on, Home court advantage. So I run Point Guard,Johnson runs Shooting Guard, Neal runs Power Forward and Reid runs Center. Reid made a hard V cut to the left then cut back in. Passed the ball and hit the lay up. We knew they didn’t want it. So, We checked it again. Passed it to Johnson he made a pass to Neal, And he took it in . . . Layup. Four to Zero.
  5 Minutes Later

Games almost over, Game to 21. Its 19 to 18, We are up. I passed in the ball to Johnson to my left, He passed it back and we were ready.Johnson made a hard V-Cut in and back out. Reid was posting his man up, And Neal was wide open. I drove hard to the whole, Got all of the defenders on me and kicked it back out to Neal. He shot it, Then missed and the rebound went to Johnson. (Now Johnson is the last person you want to have the ball at the end of the game when we have to score. He is the shortest person, Everyone else on the other team was way taller than him.) So he head faked and drove. But right before he was at the basket he did a no look pass to Reid, He went up over two players and hit the lay up. That was game, We had won. Two years in a row. They had thought they would have beat us. We told them good game, And we’ll see them next time. I heard one of them saying, “Man, We’ll get them next year”.

So for the rest of the day, We just hung out and relaxed.  Until Night time, Then we hit the movies with our girls. Yuup, That’s how we roll. :)

Memories

                             Memories
                              By: Weston Edwards

I had the best, blood flowing, thrilling time of my life when I was a kid. I was always amused because something was hilarious or exciting. Or, I was crying my eyes out because I was injured trying to do something people would say “That's Impossible” When I was a child, Trust me. . . NOTHING was Impossible.

My family and I always have had the most amazing memories. Especially when we were kids, We were either in to mischief or we were wheeling each other to the Emergency Room. I had to at least, Give my cousin 10 stitches in his head. Five in the front, And five in the back.

The time I remember is when we thought we were the best, quickest, Most Unhurtable Super Hero's ever! I was Superman and he was Flash. So the journey began, We were riding bike's down a hilly, rocky, trashy hill full of imaginary signs saying “Death Here”. I was the lucky one, I made it out . . Alive. My cousin, Not so lucky. He fell scraped his head and landed on a Ginormous rock. Oh Yes, There's more stitches.

I also enjoy hanging out with my friends. We always laugh, wrestle, And laugh again. We love each other like brothers. Whenever we need something, We go to each other. That's the best part of our friendship, We always have each others back no matter what.

One of the best times was when Jaylon and I played Modern Warfare 3, And survived to Level 37 on Survival Mode. It had to be four hours we played that game. Over, Over, Unending. We had our mind set to beat Level 36, We were determined. Till 5' O Clock in the morning rolled around It was over, Finished. We had finally met our goal. Both of our screens red as a cherry. With blood all around them. We got to Level 36, And it got so gruesome , Our guys had bright red blood everywhere, As we ran across the map like 2 hungry dogs were chasing us. But we won :]

When we hangout, We have so much fun. And that's what I love :)

Tell Tale Heart Story :)

Tell Tale Story
By: Weston Edwards

I get a call on my radio and it says “Uhh, We have a woman calling and said she heard a scream from the house beside her.. Would you and the other officer go check it out”? But, Of course my answer was a yes... That is when it all began....

4:30; The call came in. So I headed over there very silently, Under the radar. Just to see if anything ran, Or Did anything suspicious. The other officer and I got there and waited for like two minutes in the car. We both got out and headed to the door....

The man that answered the door looked about thirty, He smiled and welcomed us in. Then we proceeded with the investigation. We told the man that the neighbor beside us called and said that there was a loud shriek. The man replied, Ohh... Then he chuckled. It was me, I had a very awful nightmare, I hollered and ran out of bed. It's good to have neighbors that care about you, Aye? We replied yes, And walked up this big staircase into his room....

He opened the big door, And grabbed us two chairs and grabbed him one. He handed us ours and sat his down on the floor. He asked for a cup of coffee, We nodded our head's yes then we all had a good conversation. He really seemed like everything was okay. But then... He started getting anxious , Talking louder, Walking around his chair, And talking more sophisticated....

We asked him if everything was alright, He replied yes very loud. He was acting as if he was possessed with something evil. He started grabbing his hair. Picking up his chair, and then he slung it. We both stood up and grabbed our guns. That's when he said Stop! He said I did it, I killed him. I put him under the floor. Then he pulled up the floor where he had hidden the dismembered body....

Oh, It made me furious. He cut off every limb that he had. Arms and Legs. Then worse the head.. Ohh I wanted to grab him and sling him. But I calmed myself down. I asked him why, He said the eye. He said he had this eye, The vulture eye. It infuriated him, He had to get rid of it. So he had killed him. We asked multiple questions. He answered them all. Then we put him in the car, And headed off.

Similarities Between Jersey Shore And The Hunger Games!
By: Weston Edwards
Jersey Shore{Wikpedia} is connected to the Hunger Games so much, I think.. In this story I will pull all these thing's out of the book. First off, Jersey Shore is full of stress, hurting, worrying, competing, and fun. (Sometimes)

Jersey Shore relates to the fighting part because everyone want's to win the reality show, So therefor.. People are competing to win. Also, In the Hunger Games people are fighting to win. Its fight to the death.(Literally) In the T.V. Show and in the games, You both get a ginormous prize for winning.

The frustration part goes a LONG way with it too. I would be frustrated with the people too if I had to live with them in a house for four straight season's. The people in their house fight all the time, Because they are together every day. But they are like a family. Katniss is outside in the Games, By herself, Lonely, But she was VERY frustrated when Rue died. She was angry at the Capitol, And the Career Tributes as well.

The thing about Jersey Shore, When you are together with those people for that long. You grow a bond with them, You become a family{Family;Wikipedia}. You help, and take care of each other when they need it. Just like Snooki {"Nicole Polizzi"}, She was having Boyfriend problems, And so everyone tried to cheer her up and was there for her. Just like Katniss had Problems with Peeta, And they became strong, Just like a family. Katniss had to help Peeta with his leg, Peeta had to help Katniss with her cut to the head.
They worked together.

Jersey Shore has some big time relationship problem's as well. They are always fighting with their boyfriend, Or missing them. Well Katniss was in that boat too. She like's Gale and Peeta. Who was she to choose from? Katniss and Peeta were hugging and kissing all over each other in the game's. It must have been awful for Gale to sit there and watch that too. Just like if their was a Boyfriend/Girlfriend from on of the actors back home. They would have to sit and watch their Boyfriend/Girlfriend spend a season with a bunch of Boys/Girls in the same house. It must be awful.

These are the connection's I can bring out of the story.
